Jayhawker has no Litters for 2008 at this time. Email or Call if your interested in going on the Waiting list for Early Spring 2009 |

When the pups are born , we notify you that there is a Brittany Spaniel puppy reserved for you . At that time you will need to make arrangements to pay the Balance due & Sign and return the Contracts, which we will need a few weeks before Shipping your pup. If you can come to pick up your pup in person, by car or you can take the pup with you as carry on Luggage on a plane , I let them go at 8 weeks old. If they must go by themselves on a flight with a heated Cargo then they must stay until 10 weeks old. Transportation costs are the responsibility of the new owners. |
Why we do research for every litter !
I need to know if the Stud has something to offer my line of Brittanys. I look at the Show and Field record plus that of any offspring that they may have. I need to see their Health certifications also. I also study their pedigree and set up blended pedigrees of theirs and mine to see what the pups pedigree would look like if I used them. Our goal is to bring together top producing bloodlines that produce good looking, intelligent, and stylish Brittany's that have Boldness, Nose, and natural ability & Great Temperaments.
I do have a waiting list started for 2007 so if you are interested in a Beautiful Dual Quality Jayhawker Brittany Pup, please fill out my Questionnaire and Email it to me, and we can go from there.
We will be looking for great homes that will be willing to help us prove that we are breeding excellent Brittanys. If you are willing to try out the Shows , Field Trials or Hunt Tests or Obedience & Agility Trial competitions, please give us a call or email us. But We also consider pet only homes as being just as worthy as long as they understand that a Brittany does best with lots of things to do and lots of human companionship.
** We may from time to time find that there is a puppy that we would like to find a Co-ownership home for. Would this be of interest to you? The Reason for a Co-ownership would be because we see some Awesome Qualities in a pup that we would like to keep a Watch on through Shows/Trials and if it turns out to be a dog that could pass on these Qualities for the betterment of the Breed and Jayhawker Brittanys, then we would like to have one litter from her or use him as a Stud in our Breeding in the future. Due to the fact we can't keep every awesome puppy from every litter , a Co-ownership helps us and our line of Brittanys. This is just something to consider and we do not push this on anyone.
In the matter of order in which you will pick your pup will be determined by a few factors:
a) Show/Field Trial or Tests/ Obedience or agility competition comes first in order of deposits - even though they make great house pets ,Brittanys thrive at being able to compete at some level of dog activity
b) Pet homes as to how the puppy fits the home.
We have never had a family be unhappy with one of our pups right down to the last pick pup. I can give lots of references if need be. If you are still interested , please Print off and complete the Questionnaire and then Fax it to me at : 1-403-948 - 1919 or you can mail it to: Jayhawker Reg'd Brittanys -Att: Lori Haldorson 529 Spring Haven Court , Airdrie Alberta Canada T4A 1C5
As with most reputable breeders we like to keep track of all of our puppies once they depart for their new homes. We enjoy phone calls, pictures, and reports of their progress and achievements.
To those who a Jayhawker Brittany Puppy is placed in their care - We register our Brittany pups first with the Canadian Kennel Club with our Registered Kennel Name first on their names. The rest of the name is up to you but CKC only allows 30 spaces in total.
What does the Perm.Reg'd mean behind the Jayhawker Kennel Name , you might wonder ? We have qualified and been excepted to have our Registered Kennel Name become Permanent Registered . We have fulfilled the requirements which are: a) a Registered Member of the CKC for more then 10 years, b) have been breeding for more then 10 years, c) NEVER been Subjected to disciplinary action by the Canadian Kennel Club d) Our Registered Kennel Name on not less then 5 Champion Jayhawker dogs that we have bred. We are very proud of this Good Record we have and we are proud to carry the name: Jayhawker Perm. Reg.d

Something to think about when looking for a Breeder Even if Brittany Breeders are claiming to be Members of Clubs Does not mean they are good Brittany Spaniel Breeders if they are not Following the Written Code of Ethics. Please check to see that they are following their Club's Code to the letter!! Some of the Rules for a Brittany Breeder - They should not be bred before 2 years old and must be OFA Certified and not placed in homes before they are 8 weeks old. - Link to OFA's Website |

If we shop around, what is the general price range for Brittanys? You can find a BYB (backyard breeder) in your local newspaper that will sell Brittanys for as little as 350 while a few nationally known breeders sell their pups for as much as 800 - 1200 US dollars. Buyer beware of inexpensive pups. In Most Cases Quality Brittanys Cost alot because of the Costs involved in Proving the Breeding Stock. Like - Shows to prove Conformation and Field Trials / Field Tests to prove Hunting / Pointing / Trainability / and Brains , Health Clearances to try to keep a line free of Dysplasia and other Diseases , Stud fees for Top Quality and Breeding Expenses and Registrations , All Cost dearly. Unless someone is Pumping out Multitudes of litters of pups for a living then a Good Breeder is not making Money on their litters.
