All I see is a Blur, it is a tail, but wagging so fast you cannot see it, normally I would be able to tell if it was Caramel or Sienna as Sienna has more white on the tip of her tail, But this tail is wagging so fast you can't see it .... The rest of the dog is buried in a clump of bush, along with a bird or varmint of some kind that the Britt has found an interest in, and they are interested in everything!! There is just nothing as much fun for a Brittany as exploring the great outdoors, especially if that great outdoors contains wildlife. Our dogs spend hours outside, and they know every inch of the property and every rock and pebble, just put something new out and watch how fast they find it and sniff it all over. When we were looking for a new dog, about 3 years ago, we stumbled upon this great website, www.jayhwkerbrittanys.com and it was not long until we were patiently waiting for our turn to get a pup, and you will wait, sometimes 2 years before your name comes up for one of Lories Brittany's. We even made a commitment to show our pup in confirmation and breed her once or twice if she was OFA certified and obtained her Canadian Championship, just to move up the list.. These last three years of owning a Brittany have been wonderful, we never knew how smart a dog could be or how sensitive they are. Both Sienna and Caramel are now Canadian champs and the time at the shows ran the gammit from frustration to joy, as they won there way into our hearts. You will see from the pictures on the web that Sienna and Caramel have taken over our home, and made it their own. Sienna is always by our side, sleeping at our feet, watching supper being made, or keeping track of the yard while we garden or work. Caramel is the outdoor type, we have a doggy door and most of Caramels time is spent on the outside, although she has to come in periodically to make sure your still there, and she has the most endearing habit of crawling up on your lap at least twice a day to spend a few minutes of quality time, and then she is off running again. Each morning as soon as the empty coffee cup has hit the table you can find Sienna staring at Jan, AND SHE TALKS! .... Sienna has a repertoire of sounds that she can make when she wants something !! Caramel will be dancing close by and making runs to the door and back. What is the fuss? Jan takes them on a five mile trek down the lake every morning after coffee and they DO NOT understand bad weather, so until they get that run the day has just not begun. Take your time and look through the web site, you will find out what Brittany's are all about and the endless variety of things they can do. Is a Britt for you? Keep in mind that Brittany's seldom walk, about the slowest they go is a scurry, but their tails are always wagging even if you have trouble seeing them ... and they are sensitive and faithful companions that will want to be with you always. PS> We are babysitting one of Sienna's pups "Jayhawkers Island Paradise" call name "LULU" and she has reaffirmed our commitment to breed quality Britts, she shows all the traits that we so much liked in Sienna including the "frog leg down" which is much indicative of OFA Excellent hips. PLUS= she is cuddly and happy and adaptable to her surroundings, like all Britts she craves attention but is happy out exploring the yard. To be a part of breeding these excellent dogs has been wonderful and we are looking forward to having our first litter at home ..... so get your name on the list! Jeb might be the number 1 MALE in Canada but our girls will have pups to die for !!!! Thanks for reading about our girls ..... Got to go Caramel needs a Hug ..... |
